SPECS & FUNCTIONS
The Ugee M1000L has a 10 x 6 inch active area which is plenty of space and will not make you feel limited. The graphic drawing tablet can be used by both right and left handed users. The tablet has 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity which gives the user complete control over the line width and darkness by the amount of pressure your apply.
The Ugee M1000L ha 8 user defined shortcut keys which can be set to open programs or set to software short cuts. By default the 8 keys on the side are set to your basic functions such as copy, cut, paste, group, zoom-in, zoom-out, save and close.
The tablet also has 16 hot cell keys at the top as well which have the following default functions web, mail, msn, new, open, close, copy, paste, cut, save, print, word, exel, powerpoint, redo and undo. Just like the 8 shortcut keys these can be customized by the user to fit there work habits and launch more commonly used apps. Now these hot cell keys don’t have different profiles and have one function after being set so you can’t set different shortcut keys to activate when using different programs.
The UGEE M1000L PEN
The Ugee M1000L’s pen has a rubber grip which I found to be comfortable and found no discomfort even after long sessions. The pen is powered by a AAA battery and depending on use it will last a few weeks or even a month.
The pen has two buttons on the side which can be set to undo, redo and eraser functions. The Ugee M1000L pen comes with a holder and 8 replacement tips which means not having to purchase replacement tips for quite some time.
SUPPORTED OS & APPLICATION
The UGEE M1000L is supported by both Mac, Windows and with WizardPen the tablet will also work with Linux. According to the manufactuer the tablet is supported by Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Sketchbook Express, Manga Studio, Paint Tool Sai, Adobe Illustrator, Krita and the included Ugee software Fun 2.
Overall the Ugee M1000L is a well designed tablet at an affordable price and offers all the features one would look for in a graphic drawing tablet. It has 8 customizable shortcut keys, 16 hot-cell keys and a large active drawing surface. The tablet works with all three major operating systems and if there is any issues ugee offers great support. Now on the downside the use cable is attached to the device and can’t be replaced if it becomes damage which also will render the tablet useless. As I did you might encounter some driver issues right out the box but I was able to solve them by downloading the latest drivers from the Ugee Website and all was solved.
If your looking for an affordable graphic drawing tablet that has similar features to the tablet giant Wacom and great build quality with a large drawing surface then check out the Ugee M1000L
